Day 8 at the World Championships

That concludes all the action from day 8 of the World Championships here in Glasgow. It's been a wonderful week of dancing with the finest Irish dancers in the world showing off their talents for all to admire in solo, ceili, figure and drama competitions. Well done to you all.

11:47pm The parade of past senior world champions has just finished, as has the parade of this year's champions.

11:19pm The Senior Men take a bow. All presentations for the day have now been completed. The audience now waits in anticipation for the parade of champions.

10:50pm The presentation of the Senior Ladies is being made now. Following all three presentations there will be a parade of champions.

10:06pm The screen is being lowered and we're about to start the results of the last three competitions of the World Championships 2010.

9:44pm That completes the Senior Mens recall round. We now await results.

9:27pm The Senior Men continue their recall round. Currently on stage is competitor number 123. All three remaining results will be announced together in the main auditorium once the men's sets have finished.

9:02pm The Mens 19-21 recall has just finished. The Senior Mens recall will now begin starting with competitor number 111.

8:16pm The screen has just been turned on, so the Ladies 19-21 results will be out very shortly.

8:01pm It has just been announced that the Ladies 19-21 results will be announced now. This will be followed by the presentation of this competition. The results of the Senior Ladies, Mens 19-21 and Senior Mens competitions will all be announced together once the Men have finished their sets. Following this there will be a parade of champions.

7:33pm The Senior Ladies recall round has just finished. As soon as the results have been tabulated they will be announced in the main hall along with the Ladies 19-21 results.

7:11pm Number 129 is dancing the Blackthorn Stick in the Senior Ladies recall.

7:09pm That concludes the light round of the Mens 19-21 competition. Next on stage will be the Senior Mens light round.

6:32pm That completes the heavy round of the Senior Mens. We will now move immediately onto the light round of the Mens 19-21 starting with competitor 126.

6:22pm Number 185 is dancing Drunken Gauger in the Senior Ladies recall round.

6:18pm Numbers 126, 127 and 128 are now on stage dancing Jigs in the Senior Mens competition. The Senior Ladies recall continues in the Strathclyde Suite.

6:15pm That completes the first round of the Mens 19-21 competition. Our first two competitors in the Senior Mens heavy round are now on stage.

5:49pm The Senior Ladies move to the Strathclyde Suite to dance their sets whilst the Mens 19-21 first round continues in the main auditorium. Currently on stage are numbers 130, 131 and 132.

5:30pm The adjudicators take their seats. We are almost ready to commence the Mens 19-21 heavy round.

4:50pm The Ladies 19-21 recall and Senior Ladies second round have both finished. The closing ceremony is taking place at the moment whilst we wait for the Senior Ladies recalls to be read out. Following the closing ceremony we will move onto round one of the Mens 19-21 championship.

4:18pm There are about 18 more dancers left to dance round 2 in the Senior Ladies competition.

4:15pm There are 6 more Ladies left to dance their sets in the 19-21 recall.

12:19pm Competitors 111 and 112 are now on stage in the Ladies 19-21 light round. There are about 25 more Ladies left to dance before we move onto the first round of the Senior Ladies.

11:30am Numbers 228 and 229 take the stage in the 19-21 Ladies light round. There are about 70 more dancers left in this round.

10:37am The Ladies 19-21 light round continues with competitor numbers 164 and 165.
