Day 1 at the World Championships

That completes the first day of competition at the 2011 World Irish Dancing Championships. It's been a wonderful start to what's set to be a memorable week in Dublin.

7:39pm The presentations are now being made starting with the 10-11 Boys.

6:45pm The Boys 11-12 results are being re-read. They missed out two competitors when it was read out the first time.

6:17pm The screen has been turned on and we are expecting the marks to be read very shortly.

5:50pm Michael Flatley is now on stage with his own tribute to Marie Duffy.

5:14pm We are going to have some drumming entertainment on stage followed by a special appearance from Michael Flatley.

5:00pm That completes all three rounds of the Girls 11-12 championship. There will now be a short interval with results following.

4:20pm Now on stage in the Girls 11-12 recall round is competitor number 144.

4:08pm Results are scheduled for 4:30pm, but it will probably be later as there are still 24 girls left to dance their sets in the 11-12 competition.

4:02pm The last competitor has just finished her set in the Girls 10-11 competition. Results for this competition will be given in the main hall, as will the boys competitions.
